David Covert Obituary

David Lee Covert, 57, of New Knoxville, Ohio, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, at his residence.

He was born November 27, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Earl and Myrtle (Davison) Covert.

He married Ruth Gordon on June 23, 1991, in Plainwell, Michigan; she survives at the residence.

He is also survived by his two sons: Christopher Covert and Patrick Covert, both of New Knoxville.

He is survived by his siblings: John (Judy) Covert-Sisung of Detroit, Michigan; Tim (Mary Beth) Covert of Detroit; Tom (Suzanne) Covert of Stevensville, Michigan; Rick (Kathy) Covert of Squim, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

David Lee earned his Associate’s Degree in Music and was a professional musician at the Way International in New Knoxville, where he had worked since 1984. He will be remembered for his incredible guitar playing abilities.

He enjoyed coaching, going on family vacations and just spending time with his sons.

Memorial services will be held 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, Reverend Mel Privette, officiant.

Friends may call from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
