April L (Flickinger) Sterling

April Sterling, 60, of Saint Marys, died 5:08 A.M. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Lima Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

She was born  December 23, 1963, in Wooster, Ohio, the daughter of Earl and Marguerite (Miner) Flickinger.

She married Donald Sterling on July 31, 1999, and he survives in Saint Marys.

She is also survived by her children: Travis (Ciara Beyes) Sterling of Moraine, Ohio; Trevor (Sara) Sterling of Saint Marys; Tara (Cameron) Brown of Saint Marys. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Mason, Emmett and Lauren; by her siblings: Shirley Flickingerl Bill Flickinger; Barb Imhoff and Michelle Smalley. She is survived by her mother-in-law, Barbara Stienecker of Saint Marys; by her sister-in-law, Jean (Dave) Kiefer of Saint Marys; by her brothers -in-law Tim Hastreiter and Doug Sterling; by numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her grandparents, Paul and Eva Flickinger

April attended Black River High School in Sullivan, Ohio. She was a homemaker and she loved spending time with her family doing sort of outdoor  activities. She enjoyed taking her family to movies and was an active member of the First Church of God in Saint Marys where she had taught Jr. Church for many years. She adored her dog, Foxy.

Funeral rites will be held 4:30 P.M. Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the First Church of God, 500 Defiance Street, Saint Marys, Pastor Joe Shouse, officiant, where memorial gifts may be given to the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton.
