Mickey “Mick” Ginter, 72, of 200 North Knoxville Avenue, St. Marys, died Monday, May 29, 2017, at his residence.

He was born October 11, 1944, in Lima, the son of Joseph and Naomi(Fisher) Ginter.

He married Evelyn Addis and she preceded him in death. He married Wilma Makley, and she survives in St. Marys. He married Janie Miller on  July 3, 2012 and she survives at the residence.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Ginter of St. Marys; by his former wife, Wilma Makley of St. Marys; by his children: Delight (Cliff) Damron of St. Marys; Doreen (Mike) Freewalt of St. Marys; Deborah (Ron) Sawmiller of St. Marys; Mick (Linda) Ginter, Jr. of St. Marys; Donnie (Angel) Ginter of St. Marys; Naomi (Darrell) Fenwick of St. Marys; Bonnie (Efraim) Lopez of St. Marys; Samantha (Shawn) Miller of Rockford, Ohio; Rickey (Alicia Wagner) Ginter of St. Marys.

He is survived by his step-children: George Slone of St. Marys; Larry (Sarah) Slone of Bluffton, Ohio; Maria “Sis” (Kevin) Sholler of Mayleen, Alabama; Michael (Jill Ballweg) Miller of St. Marys; Barbara Miller of Celina; Tonya (Tony) Gonzales of Adamsville, Alabama; Leon (Nina Overley)  Wallace of St. Marys; Cody (Ashley) Wallace of St. Marys.

He is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his siblings: Charles  (Joyce) Ginter of St. Marys; George (Carolyn) Ginter of Sidney; Jeanette Mack of St. Marys; Larry “Chub” (Kathy) Huston of St. Marys; Jeff (Tammy) Longsworth  of St. Marys; Tony (Sharon) Gross, Sr. of St. Marys; Darlene Bowman of Springfield, Ohio; Robin Studer of Rockford; Carol “Sis” Ginter of St. Marys; Roy Goodwin of St. Marys.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Hope Ginter of St. Marys, and sister-in-law Paula Longsworth, also of St. Marys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ginter and Naomi Ginter Huston Longsworth; by his siblings: Joseph Ginter; Roy Ginter; Bill Ginter; Terry Ginter; Randy Longsworth; Les Longsworth; Jimmy Ginter; Linda Alsup.

He was preceded in death by his grandchildren: Felicia Slone; Raymond Miller Whetsel; Dalton Prater; Jessica Ginter. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Eli Young.

He retired from the St. Marys Foundry after 23 years of service. He enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and was a member of the Chained Eagles, F.O.E. Arie 767 in St. Marys, and VFW Post 9289 in St. Marys. He liked to fish and hunt and was a great backyard mechanic. He loved watching NASCAR and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He was a fan of University of Michigan football. Mick loved to drink coffee and talk with his friends, and watch The Price is Right on TV.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Auglaize County Special Olympics.
