Madgealine Edna Denney, 100, of St. Marys, OH died at12:50 p.m. Wednesday January 10, 2018 at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys surrounded by her family.

She was born April 1, 1917 in Casey, IL to Aaron and Bessie (Krauss) Duncan. At three years of age, after her mothers passing, she was adopted by William and Mabel Davidson of rural St. Marys, OH.

On October 16, 1937, she married Arthur Peter Patrick Denney, Sr., who died December 20, 1965.

Survivors include: son Arthur “Patrick” (Deb) Denney, Jr. of St. Marys, OH

                              2 grandchildren: Ashley (Curt) Behr and Kyle (Tasha) Denney

                              step-granddaughter Mindy Miller

                              2 great-grandchildren: Easton Denney and Kai Campos

                              Numerous Nieces and Nephews

Preceded in death by: parents Aaron and Bessie Duncan; adoptive parents William and Mabel Davidson; granddaughter Laura Lea Denney; brother Harold Duncan; brother Sherman Duncan; sister Maureen Horger; sister Nina Yerke; brother Clarence Davidson; brother Lawrence Davidson; sister Vivian Howell

In her younger years, she worked for the Woolen Mill and Cigar Factory, in St. Marys before becoming a homemaker.

Mrs. Denney was an interesting “living history book.” An avid sports fan, she also enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading the newspaper, and was particularly astute at locating 4-leaf clovers in her lawn. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and making so many wonderful memories with each and every one of them.

Rites are scheduled to begin 10:30 a.m. Monday January 15, 2018 at the Miller – Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High Street Chapel) in St. Marys. The Rev. Dr. Ed Bray will officiate the services.

Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Lake Hospice.
