She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1959).

Following their marriage, she and Bill embarked on a 21-year military career, which involved living in numerous locations around the country. Joyce was the guts and glue that held her family together, especially during Bill’s numerous deployments. She was also a tremendous cook and homemaker. Her favorite pastimes include fishing and supporting the St.Marys Roughriders, the OSU Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns sports programs. An avid bowler, she participated in local leagues and accumulated an impressive collection of awards and trophies. Much to the chagrin of her family, ever-adventurous Joyce even took up skydiving while living in Alabama, thankfully remaining unscathed!

After Bill’s retirement from the service, their family returned home to St. Marys, where Joyce worked at Diamond Savings & Loan Co. and then, as office manager of Total Service Cener.

She was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church and the US Coast Guard Wives’ Club.

Rites are scheduled to begin 10:00 a.m. Wednesday October 25, 2017 at Wayne Street United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dillon Staas, officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
