Evelyn K. Clear, 104, 0f St. Marys, Ohio died Sunday, September 11, 2016, in Charlevoix, Michigan.  She was born July 8, 1912, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Fred and Nora (Bitzinger) Hilgeman. On May 30, 1937 in Portland, Indiana she married Robert G. Clear, who died May 24, 2004.

She is survived by daughter Judith Cook-Colt, of Charvoix, Michigan, son John "Jack" (Diane) Clear, of Hoagland, Indiana, 4 grandchildren: Scott (Kathy) Cook, Suzanne (Todd) Klinger, Amie (Darin) Nicol, and Jason (Heidi) Clear.  She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Norman Hilgeman of Coldwater, Michigan.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Clear, 2 brothers: Kenneth and Donald Hilgeman, and her son-in-law Robert Colt.

She was a graduate of South Side High School (Class of 1930) and International Business College, both in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Along with her husband, Bob, she owned and operated Clear's Shoe Store in Downtown St. Marys for many years.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys.

Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family and close circle of friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clear are scheduled to begin 12:00 Noon Monday, September 19, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church210 N. Wayne Street in St. Marys, Ohio with the Rev. Bill Maki, officiating.

Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
