Donna M. Albers, 55, of 03471 in rural New Bremen, OH died 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 8, 2017 at her residence. She joyfully battled cancer for four years -- she beat cancer by how she lived, why she lived and in the manner in which she lived.

She was born June 28, 1962 in St. Marys, OH to John and Constance (Hall) Bruns.

On August 24, 1985 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in New Bremen, OH she married Douglas A. Albers, who survives.

She is also survived by: son Jake (Carrie) Albers of New Knoxville, OH

                                       brother John (Donna) Bruns of St. Marys, OH

                                       brother Dan (Mary) Bruns of Pensecola, FL

                                       brother-in-law Bob (Kathy) Albers of Ft. Loramie, OH

                                       sister-in-law Jackie (Dave) Bergman of Ft. Loramie, OH

                                       numerous nieces and nephews

Preceded in death by: father John Bruns; mother Constance Enicks; step-father Franklin Enicks; parents-in-law Herman “Hap” and Cecilia Albers

She was a graduate of Ft. Loramie High School (Class of 1980).

She was a homemaker and a realtor for RE/MAX Select. She also cleaned homes for families in the New Bremen area.

She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in New Bremen, where she was a lector and served on various committees. She volunteered many hours at the Shrine of the Holy Relics in Maria Stein, OH and was a passionate supporter of St. Marys Tailgate For Cancer.

Faith, family and friends were the cornerstones of Donna’s life. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend, always placing the needs of others before her own.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin 10:30 a.m. Friday July 14, 2017 at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church 120 S. Eastmoor Drive in New Bremen. The Rev. Rev. Thomas Dorn and the Rev. Steve Mondeik will concelebrate the mass, with Deacon Greg Bornhorst, homilist.

Burial will follow at the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.

Visitation 2 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys. Additional visitation will be 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be directed to either Shrine of the Holy Relics, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church or St. Marys Tailgate For Cancer.
