Billie Jean Slone, 70, of 112 South Vine Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 4:02 PM Saturday, May 7, 2016, at  Lima Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 10, 1945, in Celina, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Hazel (Stoker) Benson.

She married Lawrence M. Slone and he preceded her in death in 2010.

She is survived by her children: Carolyn “Sue” (John) Monty of Seminole, Florida; Shelly Roark of Lima; Kelly “Joe” Slone of London, Ohio; by two grandchildren who she raised in her home, Heather Bonifas of Saint Marys, and Tyler Slone of Saint Marys.

She is survived by her step children Larry Slone, Jessica Bell and Jennifer Leonard. She is also survived by her siblings: Betty Smith, Erma Suchland, Jack Irish and Allen Irish.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Brittony Monty of Seminole, Fla; Dominic Mascherino of Florida; by her great-granddaughter, Destiny Cavinder; by her great-great-granddaughter, Paisley Cavinder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; by her son, Lawrence Slone; by her step-son, Todd Slone.

Billie Jean was a homemaker who loved taking care of her grandchildren.

Funeral rites will be held 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys. Private family burial rites will be held.

Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
