Frederick ‘Fritz’ Yingling, 89, formerly of 912 North Spruce Street, St.Marys, OH and  a longtime resident of Lakeland, FL, died June 4, 2009 in Lakeland. 

He was born September 14, 1919 in St.Marys, Oh, the son of William and Lillie Mae (Hudson) Yingling. 

He married Dorothy J. Lusk on February 5, 1945; she preceded him in death on January 4, 2002. 

He is survived by:

¨ Daughter, Catherine (Mark) Fritts of Springfield, OH

¨ Son, Thomas (Roberta) Yingling of St.Marys, OH

¨ Grandchildren:  Michelle (Andy) Green of Aurora, IL and Gregory (Kristin Horn) Yingling of Largo, FL

¨ 3 Great-grandchildren:  Tyler and Jenna Green and Alex Yingling

¨ Sister, Mary Shepard of Savanna, GA

¨ Special Friend, Kathryn Kibler of Lakeland, FL 

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. 

He graduated from Memorial High School in 1938. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII in New Guinea.  He retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St.Marys.  He was a member of Mercer Lodge 121; Chapter 51 Royal Arch Masons; Council 81 Royal and Select Mason.  He was Past Commander of Commandry #46; he was a member of American Legion Post 323 in St.Marys.   

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in St.Marys.  He enjoyed golfing and dancing.
