Evelyn C. Yahn, 92, of 1122 Motz Street, Saint Marys, died 7:50 P.M.Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the Golden Living-Valley Nursing Home in Saint Marys.

She was born July 16, 1917, in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of Raymond and Adeline (Barga) Francis. Her mother died when Evelyn was a little girl, and so she was raised by an aunt and uncle, Albert and Ellie Ayette in Frenchtown, Ohio.

She married Harry “Red” Yahn and he preceded her in death onOctober 19, 1990.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Yahn of Saint Marys.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her adoptive parents; by her husband; by two sisters: Lucille Vanclerg; Kathryn Smith; by three brothers: Armit Francis; Joseph Francis; Robert Francis.

Evelyn attended school in Frenchtown. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing and flower gardening. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys.

Funeral rites will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 10, 2010, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Mr. Martin Brown, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
