George E.. Winget, 92, of 714 Indiana Avenue, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 12:48 P.M. Monday, March 28, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 20, 1918, in Celina, Ohio, the son of William and Anna (Kretchman) Winget.

He married Frances Worthington on September 21, 1947; she survives at the residence.

He is also survived by his three children: James (Sharon Whetsone) Winget of Saint Marys; Jeffrey (Joni) Winget of Nashville, Tennesee; Bradley (Teena) Winget of Huntersville, North Carolina; by four grandchildren: Amanda Winget Ball; Greg Winget; Matthew Winget; Samuel Winget; by four great-grandchildren: Lillian Ball; Jade Ball; Hunter Winget; Ava Winget.

George was preceded in death by his parents; by five brothers: Howard, Fritz, Harold, Clarence and William Winget; by two sisters: Helen Winget and Mary Barger; by a grandson, Benjamin Winget.

George retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys after 30 years of service; he had formerly been an auto body repairman for many years and in retirement he was a truck driver for Grady Shaner Truck Sales in Saint Marys.

He was an avid woodworker and a member of the Community of Christ Church in Shawnee, Ohio. George will be remembered as being a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 1, 2011, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Elder David Scott and Craig Martens, officiants. Burial will follow at Kossuth Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-5 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to Grand Lake Hospice.
