She was born January 9, 1911, in DeGraff, Ohio, the daughter of Paul and Ama (Kinsinger) Hamsher.

She married Wayne A. Willis on September 3, 1929, and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1990.

She is survived by her two children: Patricia Willis of Ashland, Alabama; Michael (Joan) Willis of Cincinnati; by six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; by a sister, Joan Kuck of Lima; two nephews: Robert Kuck II of Ontario, Canada; Mike (Candice) Kuck of Saint Marys; two nieces: Jane Slavick of New Bremen, Ohio; Susan Fantz of Lima.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one great-grandchild.

Martha was a graduate of DeGraff High School. She and her husband were the owners of Willis Electric Company in Urbana. During WWII, Martha was employed as a mail checker at Wright Patterson Air force Base in Dayton, where she had security clearance and screened the US mail to prevent espionage. She and her husband had lived in Urbana, Saint Paris, Ohio; Sun City, Arizona and moved to Saint Marys in 1982. She has resided at Otterbein Saint Marys since 1996.

She was a member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in Saint Marys. She enjoyed music, playing cards and being with her many dear friends.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 11, 2011, in the Meyer Community Chapel on the campus of Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community, the Reverend Carol Sainey, officiant. Private family burial rites will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.
