Richard C. Weisenbarger
Richard C. ďDickĒ Weisenbarger, 79, of 801 Oliver Street, Saint Marys, and formerly of Van Wert, died Friday, August 19, 2011, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton following a brief illness. He was born December 29, 1931, in Darke County, Ohio, the son of Wilbur and Mabel (Carmony) Weisenbarger.
He married Inez Weadock Ankerman on May 22, 1993 and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by three children: Kay (Patrick) Jennings of Arkansas; Kevin (Kim) Weisenbarger of Green Cove Spring, Florida; Kristin Weisenbarger of Jonesboro, Tennessee; by three step-children: Juliet (Jeff) Fleischer of North Conway, New Hampshire; Angela (David) Silverman of Cranston, Rhode Island; Melinda (Kevin) Golde of Cranston, New Hampshire; by 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; by his siblings: Robert (Susie) Weisenbarger of Arcanum, Ohio; Carl (Betty) Weisenbarger of Arcanum; Charlotte (Junior) Campbell of Greenville, Ohio; by his former wife, Eileen Winans Hepburn of Orlando, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother who died in infancy and a step-son, Scott Ankerman.
Richard was a 1949 graduate of Franklin-Monroe High School in rural Darke County, Ohio and Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He retired from the Dictaphone Corporation in Melbourne, Florida, where he had been a mechanical engineer.
He was a member of Mercer Lodge #151, in Saint Marys, and the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking very much and was a member of Saint Paulís United Church of Christ in Saint Marys.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Saint Paulís United Church of Christ in Saint Marys, the Reverend Dr. Ed Bray, officiant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to Saint Paulís United Church of Christ.
