Marilyn J. Vogel, 78, of 1037 S. Wayne Street in St.Marys, OH died 11:25 a.m. Monday November 24, 2008 at the Golden Living Center - Valley in St.Marys, OH.

She was born September 2, 1930 in Mercer Co., OH to Roland F. and Edna F. (Roether) Kruger.

On December 22, 1950 in Mendon, OH she married James O. Vogel, who survives.

She is also survived by:

son David (Deborah) Vogel of Westwood, MA

daughter Marsha (Ralph) Heckler of St.Marys, OH

son Dan (Mary) Vogel of Sudbury, MA

7 grandchildren: Jeff (Julie) Heckler, Abby Heckler, Emily Vogel, Audrey . Vogel, Christina Vogel, Mark Vogel, MacKenzie Vogel

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Mildred Kruger, brother Roland Kruger, Jr.

She was a 1948 graduate of Mendon-Union High School.

She was rretired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., where she dealt with time cards. She had also done bookkeeping for Speckman Automotive and St.Marys Appliance Center.

She was a member of the St.Paul’s United Church of Christ in St.Marys and the following Masonic bodies: Rainbow Girls advisory board, Order of Eastern Stars Hawthorne Chapter # 119 (past worthy matron), Amaranth St.Marys Court # 50 (past grand royal matron), Lima Shrine (past worthy high priestess). She had also taught Sunday school, served as a band parent officer, den mother for Cub Scouts and was a Girl Scout leader.

An accomplished seamstress, she enjoyed sewing and quilting. She also liked to read, cook and make shell jewelry.

Services are scheduled 11:00 a.m. Friday November 28, 2008 at the Miller Funeral Home (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St.Marys, with the Rev. Ed Bray, officiating. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton.

Visitation 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday November 26, 2008 and one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home on Ohio 703 West.

Memorial contributions may be directed to either: St.Paul’s UCC endowment fund or Diabetes Fund of Amaranth Court #50.
