Richard L. “Rick” Thomes, 55, of 15404 Wapak – Fisher Road in Wapakoneta, OH, died Friday October 14, 2011 at his residence.

He was born September 14, 1956 in St. Marys, OH to John Robert and Jane L. (Schmehl) Thomes.

He is survived by:

Son, Troy M. Thomes  of Celina,

Step-son, Jeff (Kim) Lindemeyer  of Columbus, OH

3 step-grandchildren:  Leah, Jack and Nicholas Lindemeyer

Mother, Jane Thomes  of St. Marys, OH

Brother, Robert (Patty) Thomes  of St. Marys, OH

Sister, Vicky (Roger) Dysert  of St. Marys, OH

Sister, Nicci (Jon) Gambill  of Minster, OH

Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins

Former wife, Julie Lindemeyer  of Ironton, OH

He was preceded in death by his father, John Robert Thomes.

He was a veteran of the US Navy.

He was employed at Industrial Paint and Strip West in Waynesfield, OH.

His favorite pastimes were fishing and riding his Honda Magnum motorcycle. A true “gear head”, he enjoyed all things mechanical. 

A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday October 21, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys. Military Rites will be provided by VFW Post # 9289 and American legion Post # 323 funeral detail. Private family burial will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

Visitation one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.
