Doyt T. Thomas, 82, of 605 Black Oak Drive, St.Marys, OH died 12:05 A.M. Thursday, December 27, 2007, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St.Marys, OH. 

He was born February 20, 1925, in near Elgin, OH, the son of Howard and Ruth (Boroff) Thomas. 

He first married Evelyn Wade and she preceded him in death; he then married Ann Bowersock and she preceded him in death. 

 He is survived by:

¨ Son, Frank (Debra Neargarder) Thomas of St.Marys, OH

¨ Son,  David (Jodi) Thomas of St.Marys, OH

¨ 2 step-children: Kathy (James)Lininger of Neptune; Terrry (Rosemary) McElroy of Saint Marys

¨ 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild

¨ 3 brothers: Carl Thomas of Rockford, OH; Ross Thomas of Glynwood, OH; Dale Thomas of Wapakoneta, OH

¨ 1 sister: Ruth May Hubbard of Lafayette, IN 

He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, two brothers: Glenn Thomas and John Thomas; by one sister, Edith Harner. 

Doyt was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during WWII. He retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys. He was a member of VFW Post 9289, American Legion Post 323, DAV Post 119 and Eagles Lodge 767, all in Saint Marys; the Lima Moose and Kenton Amvets. Doyt was an avid golfer and had played semi-pro football during the 1940’s.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 31, 2007, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, the Reverend James Nuhfer, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 5-8 Sunday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the Cancer Society of Auglaize County.
