Judy Taylor, 70, of 412 South Beech Street, Saint Marys, died 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 25, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born January 24, 1940, in Lima, the daughter of Aaron and Dana (Apgar) Goodwin.
She married Lester Taylor, Sr. on April 23, 1956; he preceded her in death on January 2, 1999.
She is survived by eight children: Mardana Walter of Lima; Lester (Diane) Taylor, Jr of Saint Johns, Ohio; Charlotte (Dale) Henline of Saint Marys; Tony (Marcia) Taylor of Saint Marys; Scott (Barb) Taylor of Saint Marys; Matt (Mindy) Taylor of Saint Marys; Russell (Bridget) Taylor of Saint Marys; John (Kaci) Taylor of Saint Marys; by 32 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; by one brother, Albert “Sluggo” (Judy) Goodwin of Saint Marys; two half-brothers: Larry Goodwin of Corbin, Kentucky and Bob O’Day of Vandalia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Marvin Taylor; siblings Jim Goodwin; Aaron Goodwin, Jr.; Yale Goodwin; Lewis Goodwin; Lloyd Goodwin; Rosemary Otting; Betty Dunlap; Ruth Baroody and Shirley Olgilvie; by two grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Judy had previously worked at the Saint Marys Cotton Mill, Thundercade Arcade in Saint Marys and Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community.
She enjoyed bingo and camping; she was a huge fan of the Cinncinati Reds and Bengals and the OSU Buckeyes. She was a member of VFW Post 9289 Auxiliary.
Funeral rites will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 29, 2010, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Trent Hole, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to Grand Lake Hospice.
