Jean Tangeman, 66, of 811 Williams Street, Saint Marys, died 4:35 A.M. Thursday, January 21, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born September 20, 1943, in Saint Marys, the daughter of Clifford and Pauline (Potts) Steiger.

She married Thomas Tangeman on July 10, 1970; he survives at the residence.

She is survived by her two daughters: Daria Gibson (Charles) Kingery of Mechanicsburg, Ohio; Dacia (Tim) Nichols of Wapakoneta; by two step-children: Ruth (Ted) Henry of Wapakoneta; Jerry (Danielle) Tangeman of Sidney; by seven grandchildren; by a sister: Susie (Mike) Brown of Saint Marys; a brother: Rex (Connie) Miller of Bossier City, Louisiana; a sister-in-law, Phyllis (Vince) Stricker of Minster; by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jean had worked at Huffy Corporation, Stamco and Pierson Construction Company, where she served as office manager.

She enjoyed shopping, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 25, 2010, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, the Reverend James Fletcher, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the Auglaize County Cancer Association.
