Duyen “Danny” Ta, 52, of 1511 Hara Drive, Saint Marys, Ohio, died suddenly at 9:15 P.M. Friday, August 12, 2010, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys.
He was born October 1, 1957, in Saigon, Vietnam, the son of Dien and Sang Thi (Bui) Ta.
He married Thu (Thi Hong) “Kathy” Nguyen on December 11, 1978, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his three children: Bao (Uyen) Ta of Lima; Thao Ta of Hackensack, New Jersey; David Ta of Lodi, New Jersey; by his mother, Sang Ta of Saigon, Vietnam; by his siblings: Khanh Ta; Trung Ta; Trihn Ta; Trang Ta; Tri Ta; Hoa Ta; Binh Ta; Hau Ta; Hop Ta.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Danny emigrated to the United States in 1983 from Saigon. He was a manicurist and mangager of OP Nails in Saint Marys. He was a veteran of the Vietnamese Army and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys. He was the patriarch of his family and will be greatly missed for his devotion to them, his great sense of humor and incredible work ethic.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys, Father Hung Tran and Father Anthony Cutcher, con-celebrants.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Monday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, where Deacon Martin Brown will conduct a vigil service at 7:00 P.M.
