Marilyn J. Strohmeyer, 80, of 1130 Neil Avenue, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 1:10 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at her residence.

She was born January 6, 1931, in Copley, Ohio, the daughter of Floyd and Beulah (Holshue) Taylor.

She married Richard Strohmeyer on July 3, 1954; he preceded her in death on September 11, 1992.

She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Strohmeyer of Saint Marys; by numerous nieces and nephews; by a sister-in-law, Rita Taylor of Huron, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; a sister, Betty Hecht; a brother, Kenny Taylor.

Marilyn was a 1947 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She had worked at Reynolds and Reynolds and in later years was a homemaker. She was a very active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys, where for many years she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Zion Women of the ELCA. She enjoyed traveling to Europe and taking cruises. She and her husband, Richard loved to square dance and had been members of the Saint Marys Tri Squares for many years.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 23, 2011, at Zion Lutheran Church, Saint Marys, the Reverend Bill Maki, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to either Zion Lutheran Church or Grand Lake Hospice.
