Dorothy M. Stienecker, 92, formerly of New Knoxville and Saint Marys, Ohio, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at the home of her son in Desert Hot Springs, California.

She was born north of New Knoxville on May 5, 1917, the daughter of William and Sarah (Clausing) Stolte.

She married Reuben Stienecker on January 26, 1938; he preceded her in death in January of 1981.

She is survived by her two sons: Russell (Lucy) Stienecker of Desert Hot Springs, California; Craig (Cindy) Stienecker of Roswell, Georgia; one sister, Charlene Rasmussen of West Covina, California; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Curt Stienecker; two brothers: Robert and Forest Stolte.

Dorothy was retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys, where she had worked for 27 years. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville.

Funeral rites will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, the Reverend David Williams, officiant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church, where memorial donations may be directed to the Radio Broadcast Fund of the First United Church of Christ.
