Virginia Wain Steiner, 89, of 122 Ohio St., St.Marys, OH died at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at her residence. 

Wain was born May 10, 1919 in Buckland, OH, the daughter of Richard and Jennie (Miller) Bodkin. 

She married Robert D. Steiner on November 19, 1942 and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1973. 

She is survived:

¨ Daughter, Dee Dee (Lynn) Persinger, St.Marys, OH

¨ Son, Robert  “Bud” Steiner, St.Marys

¨ 3 grandchildren: Wendy (Mark) Knous, St.Marys, OH; Angie Youngs, St.Marys, OH;   Marcy (Greg) Keith, St.Marys, OH

¨ 7 great-grandchildren: Kelsey; Joel and Jared Knous; Kegan and Turner Youngs; Grant and Alyvia Keith

¨ Nephew, Dick Katterheinrich of Sylvania, OH 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister and brother-in-law, Kermit and Dale Katterheinrich. 

She was a 1937 graduate of Buckland High School.  She retired as a supervisor from Goodyear in St.Marys, OH where she worked for 43 years.  She greatly enjoyed playing bingo and cards, especially with the grandchildren, and teaching them the art of poker.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles both in St.Marys, OH.

Private family services will be held with burial at Elm Grove Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
