Cathy Steele, 58, of 832 Greenvale Avenue, Saint Marys, died 2:55 P.M. Monday, December 17, 2007, at St Ritas Medical Center, Lima of lung failure.

She was born April 30, 1949, in Lima, the daughter of Carl and Violet (Eshelman) Whited.

She married Jerry Steele on November 15, 1969; he survives at the residence.

She is survived by one son, Brian (Marlene) Steele of Saint Marys; by two grandchildren: Courtney and Dustin Steele. She is survived by three brothers: Bob Whited of Lincoln, Nebraska; George Whited of Athens, Ohio; John (Donna) Whited of Lima; by four sisters: Mary (Dale) Leonard of Celina; Sally Roth of Saint Marys; Helen Streight of Saint Marys; Janice (Dave) Winters of St Louis, Missouri.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Dorothy Braun and June Timmerman; by one brother, Jimmy Whited.

Cathy was a graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, camping and making crafts.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday, December 22, 2007, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Bill Maki, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
