Robert E. Snyder, 77, of St.Marys, OH and Inverness, FL (formerly of Celina, OH and Union City, OH) died Saturday October 3, 2009 while on vacation in Bammental, Germany.

He was born January 23, 1932 in Ansonia, OH to Charles E. and Blanche M. (Dillon) Snyder.

On August 1, 1957 in Liberty, IN, he married Carol L. Alt, who survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Anne Boze.

He was a veteran of the US Army, having served as a military policeman during the Korean Conflict.

He retired after 30 years from the Westinghouse Corp. in Lima, OH where he worked in quality control. He and his wife were the proprietors of Snyder Travel Agency. In addition, he had operated an excavating business in Union City, OH and an upholstery shop in Celina.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus - Council #1800, both in Celina and the Tri-Squares dance club in St.Marys.

He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and square dancing.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled 10:00 a.m. Saturday October 17, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with the Rev. Richard Riedel, C.P.P.S., celebrant. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, in Rockford, OH.

Visitation 3 - 8 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home & Cremation Service 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St.Marys.
