Arthur E. Smith, Jr., 58 , of 8548 Howard Drive in Celina, OH died 3:15 p.m. Friday March 28, 2008 at his residence near Grand Lake St.Marys, following an extended illness. 

He was born July 26, 1949 in Johnstown, PA to Arthur E. & Dorothy June (Adams) Smith, Sr. 

On June 6, 1987 in Celina, OH he married Dolora “Dori” L. Brown, who survives. 

He is also survived by: 

¨ Daughter, Jeanette (Brian) Brun of Kokomo, IN

¨ Son, Carl Atkinson of Dayton, OH

¨ 3 grandchildren: Nathan, Lauren & Marissa Brun

¨ Sister, Sandy (Bill) Gall of Johnstown, PA

¨ Sister, Judy (Al “Butch“) Ashcom of Johnstown, PA

¨ numerous nieces, nephews & friends 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

He was a truck driver, having been employed with Rising Sun Express in Jackson Center, Pet Milk in Coldwater and Plating Technologies in Dayton. 

He was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served during the Viet Nam era. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 210 in Celina and VFW Post # 9289 in St.Marys. 

He was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team and collected diecast scale models of semi tractor-trailers. He was an avid outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Services are scheduled 10:00 a.m. Wednesday April 2, 2008 at the Miller Funeral Home (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St.Marys, with the Rev. Bill Maki, officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites, will be 12:30 p.m. at the Forest Hills Cemetery, near Tipp City, OH.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Ohio 703 West Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be directed to either the Mercer Co. Cancer Assoc., or the State of the Heart Hospice Program.
