Catherine Sheaks, 92, of 917 Hager Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, died Thursday, October 16, 2008, at her residence.

She was born October 20, 1915, in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of George and Mary (Howell) Sheaks. They preceded her in death.

She is survived by one sister, Annabelle Burden of Wapakoneta; by a nephew, Tom (Gayla) Burden of Saint Marys; a niece, Marian (Richard) Crouse of Saint Marys; by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by four brothers: Seymour, Harry and Carlos Sheaks; Oliver Abbot; by four sisters: Bessie Rush, Ethel Sheaks, Marie Cotterman and Ida May Sheaks.

Catherine retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys after 30 years of service. She devoted her life to working and taking care of her extended family, including her nieces and nephews and their children.

Graveside burial rites will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Elm Grove Cemetery, the Reverend Tim Smith, officiant.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys.
