Rosemary T. Shawhan, 67, of 420 N. Wayne Street in St. Marys, OH died 1:24 a.m. Saturday May 29, 2010 in the emergency department of JTDM Hospital.

She was born February 11, 1943 in Noble Twp. In Auglaize Co., OH to Adolph and Theresa (Wuebker) Severt.

On November 27, 1970 she married Fred Shawhan, Sr., who survives.

She is also survived by:

• step-daughter, Karen Shawhan of Butler, PA
• step-son, Fred Shawhan, Jr. of Nelsonville, OH
• 8 grandchildren
• sister, Madella Schnippel of Wapakoneta, OH
• sister, Sarah Dotson of Lima, OH
• sister, Loretta (Dr. Robert) Westerheide of Mt. Vernon, OH
• brother, David (Em) Severt of Wapakoneta, OH

She was preceded in death by: parents; infant daughter, Barbara Joann Shawhan; brother, Roman Severt; sister, Edna Greve.

She was a 1961 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys.

She was a homemaker and had been manager of the former Joann Fabrics Store in St.Marys Square for a number of years.

She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its altar society.

Countless hours of her lifetime were spent devoted to using her skills as a seamstress to make all types of items for those in need, especially the people of Haiti.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Friday June 4, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St. Marys, with the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher, celebrant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, in St. Marys.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 2 - 8 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. on Friday at Miller Funeral Home & Cremation Service 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.
