Nancy V. Shannon, 87, of 307 Lynn Street in St. Marys, OH died 5:15 a.m. Monday May 24, 2010 at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born July 14, 1922 in St. Marys, OH to Edward and Elizabeth (Warman) Overly.
On February 27, 1947, she married William “Bud” Shannon, who died April 27, 2002.
She is survived by:
¨ Son, Steve “Bo Bo” (Connie) Shannon of St. Marys, OH
¨ Daughter, Marcia O’Brien of St. Marys, OH
¨ Daughter, Linda (Craig) Hunter of St. Marys, OH
¨ 9 grandchildren
¨ 25 great-grandchildren¨
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Kenneth Overly; brother, Vane Overly; brother, Richard Overly and her sisters Anna Dilbone.
She was a1940 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys. She was a retired production employee from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St.Marys. She was amember of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in St. Marys.
An avid bingo player, she also enjoyed following the Cincinnati Reds baseball team and The OSU Buckeyes football team.
Funeral Rites will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday May 27, 2010 at Miller Funeral Home & Cremation Service 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St.Marys, with the Rev. Ed Dr. Bray, officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery, in St. Marys.
Visitation for family and friends will be held 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home on Celina Road.
