Robert F. Schrolucke, 83, of New Knoxville, died 11:42 A.M. Wednesday, September, 10, 2008, at the Gardens at Celina.
He was born January 11, 1925, near New Knoxville, the son of William and Mary (Henschen) Schrolucke.
He married Shirley Weinberg on August 17, 1947, in New Knoxville. She survives.
He is also survived by his two sons, Jack (Sarah) Schrolucke of New Knoxville; Gary (Deb) Schrolucke of New Knoxville; by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Vernon and Don Schrolucke and by a great-grandson, Mitchell David Counts.
Bob graduated from New Knoxville High School. He was a veteran of the US Merchant Marines, having served during WWII. He was a life member of American Legion Post 444 in New Knoxville; a member of Eagles Aerie 767, Saint Marys and the New Knoxville Historical Society.
He was a retired salesman and farmer. A member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, he had served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Mr. Schrolucke’s body has been donated to the Ohio State University College of Medicine. After medical studies have been completed, the body will be cremated and the cremains buried in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Funeral rites will
be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the First United Church of
Christ, New Knoxville, the Very Reverend Dr. David Williams, officiant.
Friends may call from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church, where memorial
donations may be directed to the Radio Broadcast Fund of the Church. Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of the Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, 200
West Spring Street, New Knoxville.
