Charles Schnarre, 78, 1011 Race St., Wapakoneta, OH died 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2007 at St.Rita’s Hospital, Lima, OH after an extended illness.
Charles was born December 16,1928 in St.Marys, OH, the son of Carl and Gladys (Sprague) Schnarre.
He married Geraldine Melcher on March 2,1957 at The Holy Family Church in Lexington, and she survives him at the residence.

· Son, Carl (Meleah White) Schnarre, Wapakoneta, OH
· Son, Joseph (Emily) Schnarre, Wapakoneta, OH
· Eighteen Grandchildren
· Two Great-grandchildren
· Brother, Robert (Jane) Schnarre, St.Marys, OH
He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother, James.
He was a 1948 graduate of St.Marys Memorial High School. He was retired from Schnippel Construction Co. where he had served as a foreman. He also had been a member of the St.Marys Police Dept. He was a veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Wapakoneta American Legion and a life time member of Wapakoneta VFW Post 8445. He enjoyed sports, especially bowling, fishing and hunting. He had been a youth coach for football and baseball; he was a past president of the Wapakoneta Athletic Boosters. He liked to garden and use his carpentry skills. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his grandchildren. He was the candy apple entrepreneur of the county fair. He was Catholic by faith.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High St., St.Marys, OH. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High St., St.Marys, OH from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
