Evelyn R. Schamp, 89, of 1907 Winston Drive in St.Marys, OH died Thursday December 13, 2007 at the Gardens of Celina Nursing Home.

She was born September 21, 1918 in St.Marys, OH to Carl & Cecil (Silver) Knipple.

On March 24, 1940 (Easter Sunday), she married Burdette “Bus” Schamp, who died September 30, 1987.

Her survivors include:

Daughter, Debbie (Allan) Chamberlin of Bowling Green, OH

Son Brad, (Susan) Schamp of Archdale, NC

Son, William T. (Tracy Hill) Schamp of Celina, OH

11 grandchildren 4 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by: her parents Carl & Cecil Knipple, husband Burdette “Bus” Schamp, daughter Pamela Lynn Schamp, brother Rolland Knipple

She was a1935 graduate of Memorial High School in St.Marys.  A homemaker and seamstress, she had also worked at both the former St.Marys Cotton Mill and Luxury Blankets Co., prior to retiring from the former St.Marys Decorating store in downtown St.Marys.

She was a member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church and JTDM Hospital Guild, where she volunteered in the gift shop for ten years. She had also been a Girl Scout leader and officer of the P.T.A at her children’s school.

Her hobbies included playing bridge, doing cross-stitch needlepoint work, making quilts and reading.

Services are scheduled 10:00 a.m. Saturday December 22, 2007 at the Wayne Street United Methodist Church 130 N. Wayne Street in St.Marys, with the Rev. Mary Kay Brown, officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery, in St.Marys.

Visitation 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home (High Street Chapel) in St.Marys.
