Leonard J. “Speck” Sattler, 82, of 613 S. Echo Street in Celina, OH died 3:40 a.m. Friday May 7, 2010 at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.

He was born June 9, 1927 in Lansing, MI to Jasper and Pearl (Moore) Sattler.

On November 4, 1961, he married Madonna L. Sutter.

His wife, Madonna Sattler of Celina, OH

Son, Donald “Butch” (Rusti) Sattler of St. Louis, MI

Son, Larry (Barb) Sattler of Celina, OH

Son, Dan (Dawn) Sattler of Maple Rapids, MI

Daughter, Norma (David) Baucher of Celina, OH

Daughter, Shelly (Ron) Kipp of Carson City, MI

12 grandchildren 19 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Ronald Sattler; brother, Keith Sattler; sister, Rosemary Baker.

He was a graduate of Middleton High School in Middleton, MI.

He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during World war II.

He was a self-employed truck driver for fifty-one years.

He was a member of Mt. Carmel Church in rural Celina.

An avid horseman, he enjoyed all types of equestrian-related activities. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Services are 3:00 p.m. Sunday May 9, 2010 at Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys, with Pastor Mark Wakeland, officiating. Military rites will be conducted immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services on Sunday.
