Helen E. Ryan, 84, of 1910 Heritage Court, Saint Marys, died 2:15 P.M. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Celina Manor Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born May 9, 1927, in Herrin, Illinois, the daughter of Reverend O.V. and Faye (Rhoads) Mewbourn.

She first married L. Rex Baker and he preceded her in death in 1983; she then married Charles Ryan and he preceded her in death in 2001.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Dottie) Baker of Saint Marys; by two grandchildren: Sarah (Travis) Keller of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; James Baker of Las Vegas, Nevada; by a great-granddaughter, Kyla Keller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands; two brothers: J. Dean Mewbourn and Virgil Mewbourn; by a daughter, Charlotte Fay Baker.

Helen graduated from Newcomerstown High School and Olivet Nazarene University. She had worked at Pax Insurance and Vogel Insurance in Saint Marys and also the Northwest Ohio Nazarene District Center in Saint Marys. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Saint Marys, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was an avid reader.

Private family burial rites will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Elm Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Auglaize County Cancer Association.
