Stanley “Sonny” E. Russell, 68, of 305 W. Sugar Street in Cridersville, OH died 9:35 a.m. Wednesday November 3, 2010 at his residence.

He was born March 14, 1942 in Auglaize Co., OH to Stanley E. and Eva (Foster) Russell, Sr.

He is survived by:

• Daughter, Pam Slife of St. Marys, OH

• 4 grandchildren: Ashley Slife, Natasha Pruitt, Josh Evans, Whitney Johns

• Brother, Jerry “Duke” Russell of Luverne, AL

• Sister, Mamie (Jack) Bayman of Luverne, AL

• sister Sandy Youngs of St. Marys, OH

• Close companion, Mary Lou Campbell of New Bremen, OH

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Brian Russell.

He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Viet Nam era.

He was a retired production employee from the Superior Tube Co. in Wapakoneta.

An avid outdoorsman, his favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing.

Rites are scheduled 1:00 p.m. Monday November 8, 2010 at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys, with Elder David K. Scott and Elder Martin Ross, co-officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites, will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

Visitation for family and friends will be held  5 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
