Harvey W. Russell, 66, of 02664 Ohio Route 29, Celina, Ohio died 9:07 a.m. Friday September 4, 2009 at his residence.

He was born February 23, 1943, in St. Marys, OH to Harrv and Edith (Shinabery) Russell.

He married Cherl Agler on June 29, 1964; she survives at the residence. (Note: Cherl is correct)

He is also survived by:

daughter, Kim (Jeff) Valente of Cuyahoga Falls, OH . son William (Dixie) Russell of St.Marys, OH

daughter, Mandi (Todd) Shroyer of New Knoxville, OH

daughter, Veronica (Richard) Block of St.Marys, OH

son, John (Karla) Russell of Montezuma, OH

12 grandchildren 4 great-grandchildren

a half-sister, Dorothy Rogers Schneider of Minster, OH

a sister-in-law, Evelyn (David) Miller of St. Marys, OH 

He was preceded in death by: father; mother, Edith Russell-Chilcoat; step-father, Otis Chilcoat; a half-brother Don Rogers.

Harvey had worked at Beatrice Foods in New Bremen, Agway Corporation in Saint Marys, and was currently employed as a senior bus driver at the Mercer County Council on Aging.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He enjoyed fishing and fox hunting, camping, playing cards and horseshoes; he was a member of Past President of the Auglaize County Civil Defense and a member of the Buckeye Emergency Team; he had belonged to Eagles Lodge #767 in St. Marys and the St. Marys Fox Hunters’ Club; he enjoyed watching NASCAR.

Funeral rites will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday September 7, 2009 at the Miller Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1605 Celina Road in St.Marys, with the Rev. Charles Rictmyer, officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites, will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton, OH.

Visitation 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
