Arnold “Tiny” Rosenbeck, 71, died at 5 p.m. Nov. 24, 2009, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident Nov. 21.
He was born June 4, 1938, in Mercer County to Urban and Martha Homan Rosenbeck, who preceded him in death. On July 1, 1961, he married Margaret “Diane” Winhover, who survives at the residence.
Mr. Rosenbeck retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation, where he had worked as a mechanic. He was also a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys. He had served as a volunteer firefighter for the St. Marys Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed farming, restoring tractors, playing cards and traveling. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors also include four children, Teresa (Grant) Miller, David Rosenbeck, Scott Rosenbeck and Todd Rosenbeck, all of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Brent Miller and Jennifer Miller; a son-in-law, Glenn Miller, of Wapakoneta; and seven siblings, Victor (Della) Rosenbeck, of Pitsford, Mich., Elmer Rosenbeck, of Dayton, Viro (Loretta) Rosenbeck, of Versailles, John (Marilyn) Rosenbeck, of Fort Loramie, Joan (Terry) Brook, of Louisville, Ky., Mary (Steve) Menchoffer, of Rockbridge, and Irene (John) Siler, of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Miller, and a brother, Jerome Rosenbeck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys. The Rev. James Seibert will officiate. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Dialysis Program at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
