Homer Ray Robinette, 70, of 1126 Nagel Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 11:56 A.M. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Doctor’s West Hospital in Columbus following a sudden illness.

He was born June 2, 1941, in Williamson, West Virginia, the son of Lee and Effie (Blacke) Robinette.

He is survived by his longtime special friend, Willia Skeens of Saint Marys; by his two children: Melissa J. Plokhooy of Saint Marys; Ray (Stephanie) Robinette of Monticello, Kentucky; by two grandchildren: Shelby Elson and Wesley Robinette. He is survived by four sisters: Lottie Kirk of Columbus; Maxine Noan of Carey, Ohio; Bonnie Watts of Columbus; Nella Watts of Columbus; by four brothers: Jim Robinette of Sycamore, Ohio; Jeff Robinette of Williamson, West Virginia; Carlos Robinette of Plain City, Ohio; Walter Robinette of Columbusa; by numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Orville Robinette; two sisters: Wanda Robinette and Lucille Kirk; by three grandsons: Dillon, Preston and Jordan Robinette.

Homer retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys after 30 years of service and he also owned and operated a lawn care service for many years.
He was a member of Eagles Lodge 767 and VFW Post 9289, both in Saint Marys. He loved attending auto races at Eldora Motor Speedway and will be missed by his many friends there. He loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing and doing outside work.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor John Mobley, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be given to Gideons International.
