William C. “Bill”
Ray, 48, of 10170 Burr Oak Road, Wapakoneta, Ohio, died suddenly on Monday,
March 15, 2010, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial
Hospital in Saint Marys.
He was born October 31, 1961, in Saint Marys, the son of Neal and Phyllis
(Steinke) Ray, Sr. His father survives in Saint Marys and his mother, Phyllis (Hasroe)
Ward also survives in Saint Marys.
He is survived by his two sons, William and Jack Ray, who both lived with their father; by four brothers: Michael (Fran) Ray of Tarpon Springs, Florida; Dennis (Lynne) Ray of Celina; James (DeeDee) Ray of Saint Marys; Neal Ray, Jr. of Saint Marys; by 3 nieces and 3 nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Ray.
Bill was a 1980 graduate of New Knoxville High School. He was employed as a coordinator at Honda of America in Anna, Ohio. He loved the Cincinnati Reds and had attended Opening Day for 30 consecutive years; he was a season ticket holder for many years He had visited every major league baseball park in the United States and he was also a fan of the New Orleans Saints.
Funeral rites will
be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605
Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Harold Liess, officiant. Burial will follow at
Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
