Rita A. Post, 87, formerly of 02731 Noble Road in Noble Twp.-- Auglaize Co., OH died 8:58 a.m. Sunday August 9, 2009 at the St.Marys Living Center. 

She was born March 29, 1922 in Maria Stein, OH to Bernard & Catherine (Gehl) Heitkamp. 

On January 10, 1945 at St.Henry Catholic Church, she married William J. Post, Jr., who died May 14, 1988. 

She is survived by:

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Todd Post, an infant granddaughter; seven brothers: Joseph, Raymond “Ray, Bernard “Benny”, Clarence, Alphonse “Al”, Vincent and Melvin Heitkamp and four sisters: Mary “Mamie” Everman, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Bruggeman, Bernadette “Bernie” Heitkamp, Cecelia “Sis” Kuntz. 

She was a homemaker and had worked at the Huffy Bicycle Corp. in Celina and the Buckeye Overall Co. in Coldwater. 

She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Altar-Rosary Society and the Auglaize Co. Farm Bureau. 

Mrs. Post enjoyed cooking for her family and was especially known for her homemade noodles. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing cards.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday August 12, 2009 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St.Marys, with the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher, celebrant. Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery, in St.Marys. 

Visitation will be held 4 – 8 p.m Tuesday and 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road in St.Marys.  

Memorial contributions may be directed to the church.
