Bessie M. Phlipot, 86, of 702 Linden Avenue, Saint Marys, died 4:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Joint Township Hospital in Saint Marys.

She was born May 8, 1923, in Frenchtown, Ohio, the daughter of Felix and Theresa (Baltes) Mangen.

She married Charles Phlipot on June 5, 1943; he preceded her in death on April 15, 2006.

She is survived by her two children: Donna Norton (and fiance Tom Klosterman) of Saint Marys; James (Karen) Phlipot of Saint Marys; five grandchildren: Jeff (Denise) Norton of Saint Marys; Denise (Shawn) Lawler of Saint Marys; Diane Aslage of Spencerville; Jamie (Elisha) Norton of Saint Marys; April Phlipot of Saint Marys; by 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; by a sister, Rosella Phlipot.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Lloyd Mangen; five sisters: Verdice Monnin; Virginia Grilliot; Cecelia Magato; Geraldine Black and Helen Monnin.

Bessie retired from the Coldwater Buckeye Company, where she had been a seamstress.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Altar Sodality. She enjoyed quilting and doing embroidery work.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys, the Reverend Anthony Cutcher, celebrant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to the Friends of Holy Rosary School.
