He was born September 7, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Richard and Isabelle (Mercer) Phillips. They preceded him in death.
He married Beverly Robinson on August 17, 1991; she survives at the residence.
He is survived by one brother, Richard (Becky) Phillips of Mt. Sterling, Ohio; by three sisters-in-law: Kathy (Tim) Keiber of Saint Marys; Sandy (Larry) Thobe of Saint Marys; Patricia (Buddy) Connell of Jacksonville, Florida; by two brothers-in-law: Eric Robinson of Spencerville; Richard (Karen) Robinson of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and in-laws, Richard and Frances Robinson.
Tony was a graduate of Westfall High School in Williamsport, Ohio; he was a graduate of Circleville Bible College and Capital University. He had many hobbies and interests including: model building, restoring antique tractors, and model railroading. He belonged to NARCOA, a train collectors group; the Navy League, The Sheriff’s Association; the Wapak Rocket Club and the Buckeye Antique Farm Tractor Club. He would demonstrate model rocketry each year at the Neil Armstrong Museum in Wapakoneta. He loved to read and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Glynnwood, where he was an active member.
He was employed as a truck driver at J.M. Stahler and Son Trucking, Inc.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 24, 2008, at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Glynnwood, the Reverend Oscar Seger, celebrant. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to the Catholic Ministries Appeal.
