Edward W. Overley, 55, of 115 South Vine Street, Saint Marys, and formerly of Sidney, died 6:15 A.M. Thursday, August 12, 2010, at Saint Ritas Medical Center in Lima following a brief illness.
He was born April 28, 1955, in Quebec, Canada. His parents, William “Buck” and Joan (Tangeman) Overley preceded him in death. His biological mother, Louise St. Pierre, survives in Levis, Quebec, Canada.
He married Cheryl Brewer on May 4, 2007 and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by four step-daughters: Erin (Brett) Peachey of Columbus, Ohio; Jacqui Rasneor of Saint Marys; Carrie Rasneor of Springboro, Ohio; Danni Rasneor of Saint Marys; by five grandchildren: Tori; Rylan; Avrie; Jalynn and Ayden; by his biological siblings: Martin Cote of Levis, Quebec; Claudia Cote of Levis, Quebec; by a half-brother, Marty Overley of Quebec, Canada; by several nieces and nephews; by his in-laws, Harry and Ruth Ann Brewer of New Bremen, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his biological father, Gerald Cote.
Ed was a 1973 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He was employed at Buehler Asphalt Company in Saint Marys. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys. He was a member of Eagles Lodge 767 in Saint Marys, was a huge fan of the Cleveland Browns and OSU Buckeyes; enjoyed bowling, golfing and watching NASCAR racing. He loved going camping with his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys. Private family burial rites will be held.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to the Auglaize County Cancer Association.
