Earline Mae Opperman, formerly of 1009 Motz Street in St.Marys, OH died October 18, 2007 in Lakeland, FL, following an extended illness.

 

She was born March 15, 1930 in Darke Co., OH to Earl & Eleanor (Puterbaugh) Shives.

 

On March 24, 1951, she married Marvin W. Opperman, who survives.

 

She is also survived by:

¨ Daughter, Susan (Larry) Wilkins of Celina, OH

¨ Son, Jeffrey (Kendra) Opperman of St.Marys, OH

¨ 3 grandchildren, Greg (Stacy) Moorman, Ryan Opperman, Jill (Danni) Schneider

¨ 4 great-grandchildren, Amy, Angel , Casey & Cassandra Moorman

¨ Brother, Thomas (Dianne) Logan of St.Marys, OH

¨ Brother, Richard (Donna) Logan of Prescott, AZ

She was preceded in death by her farther, Earl Shives; mother, Eleanor Shives-Logan-Ritchie; brothers, Benjamin & Eugene Shives

 

She was a 1948 graduate of Memorial High School in St.Marys. She was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary for Zion Lutheran Church.

 

Her memberships included the St.Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lakeland, FL and Zion Lutheran Church in St.Marys, OH, where she had taught Sunday school for a number of years. She also belonged to the Red Hatters Society of the Oakbridge Nursing Home.

 

Earline enjoyed camping, cooking, playing cards and games and spending time with her family.

 

Funeral services are scheduled 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3,2007 at the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, OH, with the Very Rev. David Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St.Marys, OH

Visitation  wil be held 1 - 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be directed to either the St.Paul’s Lutheran Church Expansion Fund or the First UCC Heating Fund.
