Marvin T. Oen, 97, of 213 N. Spruce Street in St.Marys, OH, died 12:34 a.m. Thursday July 30, 2009 at the Golden Living Center - Valley Nursing Home in St.Marys.

He was born September 11, 1911 near Hume, OH to Frank & Wilhelmina (Fisher) Oen.

On November 30, 1933 at St.Patrick’s Catholic Church in Glynnwood, OH, he married Anna L. Hoorman, who died September 2, 1999.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Paul Oen, grandson Daniel O’Dowd, great-granddaughter Kirsten Schroyer, step-grandson Louis Fry, Jr., step-granddaughter Shonda Fry, brother Leonard Oen, sister Alodia Brown, brother Richard Oen, sister Sr. Ruth Oen, C.P.P.S., brother Wilbur Oen, brother Leo Oen, 4 son-in-law: William Wilges, Fuad Esmahan, Leon Schoenlein, Clyde Dull

He was a life-long farmer and also worked at Kogge Electric & St.Marys Cotton Mill in St.Marys, Mersman’s Bros. Mfg. in Celina and Superior Tube in Wapakoneta, where was a boiler operator.

He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #1492 and Eagles Lodge Aerie #767, all in St.Marys.

Fishing was a great source of enjoyment for Marvin, always wishing that he would be able to go one more time before his death.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Monday August 3, 2009 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St.Marys, with his son, the Rev. Edward J. Oen, C.P.P.S., as celebrant.

Burial is to follow at the St.Thomas Cemetery, in Glynnwood.

Visitation will be held 2 - 6 p.m. Sunday and after 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road in St.Marys.
