Alice Lantz Noble, 88, formerly of 01309 Salem Noble Road, Saint Marys, and a resident of Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community, died 8:25 A.M. Friday, September 3, 2010.

She was born September 27, 1921, in Gomer, Ohio, the daughter of Alpha and Huldah (Augsburger) Lantz.

She married Thomas Robinson on June 19, 1941 and he preceded her in death in July of 1943. She married Norman Noble on August 17, 1952 and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1986.

She is survived by her three children: Judith (Jack) Haines of Lima; David (Mary Anne) Noble of Indianapolis; Alice (Tom) Bates of Saint Louis, Missouri; by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin (Myra) Lantz of Columbus, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Opal Redinbo; Treva Bidwell, David Lantz; ; by both husbands.

Alice was a 1939 graduate of Sidney High School. She was the business manager of the family farm, had worked as the secretary to the Sidney City School superintendent and had served as office manager for an optometry practice. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church in Saint Marys; the Shakespeare Club; Salem Grange and Saint Marys Rock Club. She enjoyed camping, sewing, gardening, traveling and quilting.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 11, 2010, at the Meyer Community Chapel on the campus of Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community in Saint Marys, Ohio, the Reverend Carol Sainey, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-7 P.M Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, and from 9-11:00 A.M. Saturday at Otterbein Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to Otterbein Saint Marys.
