Janet Michel, 80, a resident of Otterbein St.Marys Retirement Community, St.Marys, OH, died 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Otterbein St.Marys. She had moved to Otterbein in 1990 and had formerly lived in Findlay and Warren, Oh. 

She was born August 5,1927, in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of Peter and Ruth (Colgrove) Consla. 

She married Emory Michel on December 23, 1950 and he survives at Otterbein St.Marys, St.Marys, OH. 

She is survived by:

¨ Nephew, David (Marilyn) Brown, Kettering, OH

¨ Niece, Karen Kish, Stoneboro, PA

¨ Several other nieces and nephews 

She was preceded in death by her parents and by one sister, Carolyn Brown. 

Janet was a 1945 graduate of Shaw High School in Cleveland, OH.  She had worked for many years as a bookkeeper.  She had long been active in community theatre productions, including Trumbull New Theatre in Warren and Fort Findlay Playhouse.  She was a member of the Ohio Community Theatre Association. 

She was a member of the Wayne Street Methodist Church in St.Marys, OH.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 7,2008 in the Meyer Chapel at Otterbein St.Marys Retirement Community, the Rev. Carol Sainey, officiant.  Friends may call one hour prior to services at Otterbein, where memorial donations may be directed to the Otterbein Benevolent Fund.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St.Marys, OH.
