John W. Mulligan, 81, of 11404 Ohio 364 in St.Marys Twp., OH, died 1:55 p.m. Friday May 15, 2009 at the Golden Living Center - Valley Nursing Home in St.Marys.

He was born January 19, 1928 in Dayton, OH to Patrick J. and Agnes (Hamman) Mulligan.

son Mark Mulligan of Columbus, OH

daughter Mary Agnes (Steve) Watercutter of Ft.Loramie, OH

daughter Cynthia May of Lithia Springs, GA

daughter Michelle Mulligan of Sidney, OH

11 grandchildren 8 great-grandchildren

sister Patricia Lewis of Springfield, OH

He was preceded in death by: parents, daughter Cheryl Mulligan, sister Eileen Strasburg, brother Dennis . Mulligan, brother Donald Mulligan, former wife Betty (Marchal) Bowersock

He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from the US Department of Defense, having worked as a warehouseman at the DESC in Dayton, OH.

He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St.Marys.

His favorite pastimes included fishing, watching traffic and sitting around a campfire.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled 10:30 a.m. Wednesday May 20, 2009 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St.Marys, with the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher, celebrant.

Burial, with graveside military rites, will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery, in St.Marys.

Visitation 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30 - 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday at the Miller Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St.Marys.
