Orval “Dick” Mowery, 76, of 1560 Knoxville Ave, Saint Marys, died suddenly on Friday, January 14, 2011, at his residence.

He was born October 14, 1934, in Auglaize County, Ohio, the son of Orval D. and Lucille (Reineke) Mowery.

He married Phyllis Hengstler on January 19, 1957 and she survives at the residence.

He is also survived by his three sons: Rick Mowery of Lima; Lindsey Mowery of New Knoxville, Ohio; Stanley Mowery of New Bremen; by nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; by a sister, Chris White of Troy, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dick was a 1952 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys. He enjoyed taking care of his home and watching sports. He had been a Little League coach and loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where a Rosary Service will be held at 7:00. Memorial donations may be directed to either Holy Rosary Catholic Church or the Auglaize County Cancer Association.
