Hazel M. Moeller, 98, formerly of 114 South Wayne Street, Saint Marys, and a longtime resident of Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community, Saint Marys, died 9:20 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2011, at Otterbein Saint Marys.

She was born August 27, 1912, in Auglaize County, Ohio, the daughter of Edwin and Hilda (Wiegers) Moeller.

She is survived by her nephew, John (Deb) Moeller of Saint Marys; by three nieces: Susan Reinemeyer of Bradenton, Florida; Cyndi Coey of Bradenton, Fla; Melissa Cagle of San Marcos, California; by numerous great-nieces and nephews; by a sister-in-law, Barbara Moeller of Bradenton, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, LaRue Moeller and Wilhelmine Moeller; by four brothers: Richard, Robert, Harold and Charles Moeller; by a sister-in-law, Wilma Moeller.

Hazel had been a secretary at the former Union Building and Loan Company in Saint Marys; she retired from Parker Shady Acres, where she had been a bookkeeper. She was a member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ in Saint Marys, where she had been a member of the Ladies’ Guild and the Lydia Circle of the church. She was a charter member of the Saint Marys Soroptomist Club.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 29, 2011, in the Meyer Community Room at Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community, the Reverend Carol Sainey and Reverend Ed Bray, officiants. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at Otterbein Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be given to either Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ in Saint Marys or Otterbein Retirement Community, Saint Marys.
