Mary Ellen Miller, 76, of 330 South Main Street, Mendon, died 6:00 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2011, at Lima Memorial Hospital. 

She was born August 4, 1934, in Auglaize County, Ohio, the daughter of Gerald and Viola (Topp) Sanders.

She married George J. Miller, Jr. on November 21, 1953; he preceded her in death on January 21, 1995. 

She is survived by her six children: Jeanine (Thomas) Thobe of Henderson, North Carolina; Lucinda Herfurth of Mendon; Kyle (Betty) Miller of Mendon; Michael Miller of Mendon; Lois Miller of Mendon; Gwendolyn (Larry) Goubeaux of Osgood, Ohio; by 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; by two brothers: Ralph Sanders and Fred Sanders; by a sister, Dorothy Meeker. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Norbert Sanders, Paul Sanders, Carl Sanders; by two sisters: Delores Hussey and Ruth Long; by two grandsons.

Mary was a 1952 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She had previously worked at the Saint Marys Cotton Miller and she retired from Celina Manor Nursing Home where she had been a cook.

She enjoyed watching birds, especially hummingbirds and was a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Saint Marys. 

Private family services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home in Saint Marys. Burial will follow at Willow Grove Cemetery in New Bremen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Heart Association or the Veterans' Medical Center in Dayton.
